In 1999 Beloit Corporation filed bankruptcy and Metso Paper of Finland acquired a large portion of the assets. Metso then sought the expertise of HDG to build a facility according to their specs in Beloit so that it could put back to work the many employees who were experienced in the papermaking industry. HDG bought land in Beloit's industrial park from the City of Beloit and built a new home for Metso. Metso signed a 10-year lease with HDG.
HDG delivered this build-to-suit development for Metso Corporation that, in the words of Metso's General Manager, "exceeded our expectations on every count".
