Last year, hundreds came to view independent films, documentaries and shorts shown in downtown businesses, at Beloit College and in other venues in the community. Organizers had expected 1,500 guests for last year's film festival, but ticket sales rose to 4,000 allowing the festival to end its first run in the black.
